Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that defender William Saliba will have to perform well against Erling Haaland. He has also said that the French defender struggled against Ivan Toney.

However, he has also said that the Brentford game has made him ready for the Manchester City game. Hence, it looks like William Saliba has learnt so much from the Brentford game.

ARSENAL DEFENDER WILLIAM SALIBA STRUGGLED AGAINST BRENTFORD

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that William Saliba struggled against physical ability of Ivan Toney. Hence, the Gunners were held to a 1-1 controversial draw against Brentford. However, Mikel Arteta has said that experience has only made William Saliba more stronger for the future matches this season. Hence, the Gunners fans will now hope that Saliba does not struggle against the likes of Erling Haaland. The Gunners now will face Manchester City in a potential title decider.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has also said that he did struggle against Ivan Toney. However, he has the potential to put in more good performances than bad performances. He further said, “He [Saliba] has the physical capacity to handle that but he also needs the timing, the exposure and the experiences he had with Toney to realise how difficult it is here,’. City are not going to be putting those type of balls but they have a goalkeeper that can put in our box, that’s for sure.’

THE GUNNERS WILL HOPE TO WIN THE GAME AGAINST MANCHESTER CITY

Arsenal against Manchester City is a potential Premier League title decider match this season. The Gunners are currently three points clear of Manchester City. However, the Gunner recent form will definitely give confidence to Man City. The Gunners have struggled in the last three matches to create chances or also in defense. They lost the game against City in FA Cup and they also lost the Premier League game against strugglers Everton. The Gunners were also forced to a 1-1 controversial draw against Brentford.

Hence, the Gunners desperately need to win this season. This is because City could overtake them on the first position if they win the match against Arsenal. Hence, it is clear that the game is a title-decider for this season. Hence, all the players from both the sides including Saliba cannot afford to make mistakes in such an important game. However, Mikel Arteta is calm about the game. He has also asked his players to treat the game against Manchester City like any other Premier League game this season.

Both Arsenal and Manchester City will also hope that VAR referee takes good decisions. The PGMOL has also issued an apology to the Gunners for their mistakes against Brentford. Gunners have also accepted the apology. However, Mikel Arteta has said that they are still disappointed that the apology cannot return them back the two points that they lost out on because of bad VAR decisions.
