Arsenal

Arsenal are demanding the sacking of VAR referee Lee Mason after his error helped Brentford with the equaliser. They are also demanding the sacking of Chief Refereeing Officer Howard Webb.

Hence, it looks there will be big decisions made to improve the quality of VAR officials at the end of the season. However, the Gunners need to focus on the important clash against Manchester City.

ARSENAL FANS ARE DEMANDING THE SACKING OF VAR OFFICIAL LEE MASON

Arsenal fans have demanded the sacking of referee Lee Mason. Lee Mason was the VAR official in the match of Gunners against Brentford. However, he forgot to draw the line that would have ruled the Brentford goal offside. Hence, the Gunners had to settle for only one point. This also put a big dent to their title hopes. The Gunners were also comfortably winning against Brentford. However, the Gunners could not get anything right in terms of winning the game after the unfortunate equaliser by Ivan Toney.

Hence, a number of fans have also demanded that Lee Mason to not referee another Arsenal game. They have also demanded the sacking of PGMOL main officer Howard Webb. Hence, Howard Webb has also called an emergency meeting with the referees. It is because a number of decisions in other games also were wrong. Hence, like the Gunners, almost all the clubs are complaining about the poor standards of referring in the Premier League this season.

MIKEL ARTETA ALSO HAS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT HIS TEAM ARE LACKING GOALS

Arsenal are correct that the referees have made decisions against them this season. However, manager Mikel Arteta also has to acknowledge that his team have lacked goals in the last two games. The Gunners also have to admit that they have also conceded goals. Hence, the Gunners must make sure that they stop leaking goals and start scoring goals. This is because their next game is against fellow title challengers Manchester City.

The Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has also said that Manchester City game is more important than ever after the defeat to Everton and draw against Brentford. He further said, “The schedule? Well first, we’ll train tomorrow, recover, and review the match to see what we can do better and continue to do. Obviously, we’ll review Manchester City and then on Monday we’ll start to look ahead to the game. Every match is [important]. That’s been the case for the last two months, and today it was a massive game for us. It was a big game, and we are disappointed because we wanted all three points.

Hence, it is clear that Arsenal will try to overcome the disappointed Brentford draw with three points against Manchester City. They have also received a huge boost before the game. Manchester City star striker Erling Haaland is a major doubt for the crucial match. Hence, this has increased the chances of winning for the Gunners.
