Chelsea have the option to bring back the striker this January window

Tammy Abraham

According to some Italian reports, Chelsea have the option to make an offer for Tammy Abraham this January.

As per TuttoMercatoWeb, the deal can happen in the summer when Tammy’s 70 million clause will be active.

Following a good season for Roma last season, Tammy is yet to recover that form this season. Compared to the 17 contributions last season, Tammy has only scored 3 goals and gave 1 assist this season.

His decline in form has not only affected his AC Roma career but also cost him the chance to play in the world cup.

Gareth Southgate preferred Wilson (Newcastle) over Tammy and Ivan Toney for the world cup.

Tammy Abraham can rejoin Chelsea this January

Sources claimed that he is keen to return back to the Premier League and few English clubs including Arsenal are interested in him.

Tammy last played in the Premier League under Frank Lampard during the transfer ban in the 2019/20 season.

Chelsea decided to sign Kai Havertz and Timo Werner following that season which resulted in limited game time for the English striker.

Chelsea have been dealing with a lack of good strikers for ages. Recently they signed Aubameyang who like others haven’t stepped up to the expectations.

The recent reports of Chelsea going for Nkunku suggest that they might change their out-and-out no9 requirements and go for a false nine kind of player.

However, if they want to get a striker, then Tammy surely seems a decent option. Having the experience of playing with Chelsea and getting coached under Jose Mourinho surely has an impact on him.

With the release clause getting activated next season, he probably will be on the target list for the Blues.
