Manchester United are preparing a bid to sign Sporting defender Gonçalo Inácio as the club rates him to be ‘decisive’.
The Red Devils endured a rather slow start in the transfer window not having signed even a single player yet. Moreover, fans hoped manager Erik ten Hag would bring a ‘revolution’ to the club but have only been disappointed.
With no signings yet, the camp at Manchester seems worried with some big-name players considering an exit this summer. Cristiano Ronaldo, perhaps the biggest name in the squad has been linked with an exit after no transfers made yet.
However, there could be light at the end of the tunnel for United as they prepare to make an offer for the Sporting defender.
The 20-year-old defender has been linked to a move to the Old Trafford this summer. Moreover, ten Hag has kept tabs on the player’s performances this season and hence the apparent interest in Gonçalo Inácio.

Inácio has been highly efficient for the Portuguese club making important interceptions during crunch moments.
The defender has donned the Sporting outfit in 35 matches and his numbers are to be admired. Inácio has a 91% pass completion rate with 75% take-on success and amassed four goals and three assists.
Standing at 1.86m, the defender is capable of winning ariel duels with 46 duels won this season. Inácio has terrific ball clearing abilities that could help Manchester.
Moreover, United’s defence has been one of the weakest in the Premier League this season leaking away too many goals. Inácio could be a suitable candidate to fill the spot at the Old Trafford.
Manchester United will look to make their first signing possible this summer very soon. However, it remains to be seen to what extent will the gaffer go to make a swoop for Sporting’s defender.
