Tottenham Hotspur vs Newcastle United: Preview and Predicted Line-up

Tottenham Sutton

After winning back to back games ahead of the international break, Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to keep their winning run going when they welcome Newcastle United on Sunday evening in the Premier League.

Spurs have been inconsistent since the arrival of Antonio Conte. However, they have enjoyed a decent run in the league over the past few games. As they have managed to win four out of the last five games. The Lillywhites only endured a disappointing defeat against Manchester United last month.

Following a great display in recent weeks, Conte’s side have jumped up to fifth place in the Premier League. They have accumulated 51 points in 29 games. One point ahead of the sixth-placed Manchester United and three points behind the fourth-placed Arsenal having played one extra game.

On the other hand, Newcastle United have had a great spell over the past few campaigns before enduring back to back defeats against Chelsea and Everton. Prior to that, the Magpies were unbeaten in the nine games and won six of those games.

Meanwhile, Eddie Howe has managed to pull the Tyneside club away from the relegation zone as they are currently sitting in 14th in the table with 31 points in 29 games. Nine points away from the relegation zone.

Tottenham Hotspur won the reverse fixture between these two sides despite trailing the game very early. The game ended in 3-2.
