Following the conclusion of the international break, Manchester United is set to return to action on Saturday afternoon in a crucial Premier League encounter against Leicester City.
The Red Devils entered the international break off the back of a disappointing defeat against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. However, they defeated their top-four rival Tottenham Hotspur in the last game in the Premier League.
On the other hand, the Foxes managed to beat the newcomers Brentford in the previous game in the league by 2-1.
Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers’ side came away victorious when these two teams met in the reverse fixture. Leicester defeated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United by 4-2. And a few weeks later, the Norwegian boss was sacked by the Red Devils’ hierarchy.
The record English champions are currently fighting for the top-four finish as they are currently sitting in sixth in the table with 50 points in 29 games. Arsenal is currently occupying the fourth spot with four extra points, having played one less game. Tottenham Hotspur is also in the race to qualify for the Champions League and they are currently fifth in the table with 51 points in 29 games.
Leicester City has endured a difficult campaign this term, accumulating 36 points in 27 games. They started the season with an eye for European qualification. But, Rodgers’ side is currently sitting 10th in the Premier League table.
