Manchester United planning to recall loan players in January

About Football Express UK

The English giants, Manchester United are set to recall their loan players in the January transfer window. Prior to the close of the January transfer window, the management made the choice to recall important players who went out on loan to other teams. As per the Manchester Evening News, Man Utd is thinking about bringing back three of their talents who are on loan. Amad Diallo, Hannibal Mejbri, and Ethan Laird are expected to be recalled even though United currently has a strong squad depth. Man Utd have the option to recall any of them in January, according to the MEN. They are currently debating whether or not to do so.

United often suffered from a lack of choices in crucial spots. This was a major factor in United’s disappointing prior season’s performances. With this move, the team will be able to find more than one player in a position on the field this year.

Performance of United’s loan players

Ethan laird is currently playing for the championship team Queens Park Rangers. The 21-year-old has made 17 appearances for QPR in the first eleven this season, with 1 goal and 2 assists. Laird had come out to play in the pre-season matches for The Red devils. He replaced Aaron Wan-Bissaka who played regularly in the 2021-2022 season. Ten hag sees Ethan Laird as a proper backup to the in-form Diogo Dalot. While, Wan-Bissaka who is not a First 11 choice, is set to leave the club in January. Manchester United will be allowing him to leave in January. As a result, Laird might be called up, giving him the opportunity to make more appearances for his parent club than his previous two.

Amad, and Mejbri In Radar

The movement of Amad was speculated. Cristiano Ronaldo‘s departure has left a sizable vacancy in United’s attacking lineup. According to the United camp, a long-term fix is preferable to a stopgap solution for that particular location. So that the international from Ivory Coast might be called up for that position. Since his summer transfer to Sunderland, he has participated in 13 Championship games for them. He has three goals and one assist from those appearances, which include six starts. Amad is a left-footed player. There is no other left-footed player in United’s forward line apart from Antony. Therefore, Amad’s arrival will help to balance Ten hag’s system.

United is also thinking about Hannibal Mejbri. The midfielder has made an impression in 15 games for Birmingham City, starting eight of them.

Apart from these three, United are looking keen on Alvaro Fernandez. Alvaro Fernandez played frequently for Preston, recently being named to the Championship Team of the Week.

Man Utd sources, however, informed the MEN that the team must put the needs of the first team first. Therefore, Laird, Mejbri, Amad, or Alvarez might make a comeback.
