Hannibal Mejbri to shine under Rangnick?

Teenager Hannibal Mejbri who went on international duty for Tunisia in the AFCON returns to Manchester United after their Quarter Final loss. The 19-year-old has been impressive for the United Under-23s and could enter the first team.

The midfielder made two appearances for his country in the ongoing AFCON but was an unused sub in their knockout games.

The youngster has already made his debut for the Red Devils. He featured on the last day of the 2020-21 season against Wolves.

HANNIBAL MEJBRI CATCHING THE EYE

Since the appointment of Ralf Rangnick, the German coach has highlighted the attributes he demands in his team. The tactician has promised to give players a chance in the first team based on their efforts on the training ground.

Mejbri’s performances for the Under-23s have convinced Rangnick to reward him with further training opportunities with the first team.

Hannibal decided against taking a holiday between returning from the Arab Cup and AFCON and attended training immediately in a bid to impress Rangnick.

His efforts haven’t gone unnoticed as he will be available to play for the first team, while still being part of the academy team.

According to Goal, Hannibal could also leave on loan to Championship sides to gain experience but United have yet to find a suitable team for him.

Man United have been known to give chances to their academy graduates and Mejbri could join a long list of names who have shone at Old Trafford, including youth icon and MBE Marcus Rashford.

The youngster has shown signs of maturity in recent months, both on and off the field. Well, the Tunisia international will sure hope things continue to go well for him. 

Manchester United will go up against Middlesbrough in Round 4 of the FA Cup. A tie in which we could see Mejbri in action.
