Manchester United have announced that goalkeeper David De Gea will leave the club on a free transfer. The Red Devils were in discussions with the Spanish goalkeeper over a contract extension. However, it is now confirmed that the goalkeeper will no longer play for the Premier League giants. David De Gea also had agreed a reduced wage contract extension.
However, Manchester United decided not to give their signature. Hence, the discussions in the last few weeks went silent. Although, it is clear that De Gea will leave the club as legend. According to reports, the now former Manchester United goalkeeper has a big offer on the table. The big offer is from the Saudi League. David De Gea had put the offer on hold because he was negotiating with the Red Devils. However, he is now free to discuss a move with any clubs this summer transfer window. The goalkeeper is also open to a return to the La Liga.
However, the former Manchester United goalkeeper will have to reduce his wage demands to move to Spain. Hence, a move to the Saudi League at the moment makes sense for the Spanish in financial terms. It is now on David De Gea and his family to make the final decision. It is clear that wherever he goes, he will become the starting goalkeeper.
Manchester United are now targeting Andre Onana as the new goalkeeper signing. They are currently in advanced talks with Inter Milan over a move. There is hope that they can agree a fee in the next week. The Red Devils have already agreed personal terms with Andre Onana.
