Everton dealt a blow in their pursuit to sign this ‘incredible’ Wolves talent

Everton

Everton and Leeds both had an interest in Wolves player Morgan Gibbs-White.

However, now it has been learned that the youngster now wants to stay on with Wolves and fight for a place in the starting lineup. Moreover, the Guardian has also reported that the 22-year-old wants to stay at Molineux for next season despite interest from other clubs.

There has been a interest from Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest, who spent last season on loan with Sheffield United.

However, this month it was reported that Everton was very close to signing the Englishman and he too was eager to join the club.

Gibbs-White now wants to stay and play for the Wolves

Wolves demand for Gibbs-White during this transfer window was £25million. However, now it seems that they would not be selling off the player.

The midfielder was impressed during his loan time at Sheffield which attracted interest from various clubs.

During his loan time with the Championship side, he showed what he is capable of. Though he currently does not fit in Wolves’ formation of 3-4-3, still he would hope for chances next term. Back in May former Wolves player David Edwards described the English midfielder as ‘incredible’.

He added,

Next season could be his breakthrough year.

I thought it might have been last year and know it ended tough for him with Sheffield United but if you ask any Blades or Swansea fan, he’s been incredible.”

I just hope Wolves get to see that at Molineux. Wolves have put a lot of time and energy into Morgan, I remember training with him when he was 15 or 16!”

He’s good enough now to play in the Premier League. Hopefully we get to see that and the club get the reward for the jobs they’ve done.”
