Rafael Benitez and Phillipe Coutinho could reunite at Everton

About Football Express UK

Everton manager Rafael Benitez and their board are interested in signing Phillipe Coutinho for the upcoming English Premier League.

Everton has been in touch with Barcelona to talk regarding a potential loan move for Coutinho. Moreover, The Toffees are showing great intent in this deal to sign this attacking player in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Coutinho is one of the players who has been put on the transfer list by Barcelona. He has failed to live up to the expectations of the club since arriving in the club from Liverpool.

A serious knee injury forced the 28-year-old Brazilian attacker to appear for only 14 matches during 2020-21. Many clubs are battling for the playmaker. He has two more years left to run on his contract with Ronald Koeman’s side.

Will Coutinho come to Premier League and join Everton?

According to Fichajes, Benitez has asked the Everton board to opt for Coutinho. The South American can potentially arrive at Goodison Park on a season-long loan. The report shows that the deal could see the Catalan club cover a ‘significant part’ of the attacker’s salary. While there would also not be a compulsion to purchase him.

If the Brazilian attacker comes to Everton, then it would not be difficult for him to get familiar with Benitez’s tactics and formation. He knows the game plan of Benitez as he has played under him in Serie A for Inter Milan.

Coutinho is considered to be a model Brazilian number 10 advanced playmaker. He can play in different positions. Like second striker, centre midfielder and as an attacking midfielder or even as a wide attacking midfielder on the flanks. Thus, He excels in providing crosses and assists for his teammates.

Coutinho, the Brazilian attacker’s elite vision and passing ability has earned him the nickname “Little Magician” by Liverpool fans and his precocious ability has also led his team’s supporters to give him the nickname “The Kid“.

Coutinho has the ability to score from spectacular curling shots with his right foot from just or well outside the penalty area, especially after cutting inside from the left flank, which has led his former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp to compare him to Alessandro Del Piero.
