As per reports, Liverpool have started their quest for signing the Brazilian midfielder, Andre, from Fluminense. The 22 year old has been linked with Liverpool for quite some time.
However, Caught Offside claims that another English club is approaching Andre Costa Neto. As they state, it’s Fulham and it looks like the Brazilian is also interested to join them. Fluminense might want €30-35 million for their star player. But Liverpool are not backing out from the move. They know that Andre could be very important for the Reds as they will be going through a transitional phase.
After 9 years, Liverpool will be starting a new season without their long-time manager Jurgen Klopp. Under the new management of Arne Slot, the team is looking forward to sign players beneficial for the club.
Is Andre good enough for Liverpool?
In the previous season, Liverpool have realized that they need a solid defensive midfielder. Even after signing Wataru Endo from VFB Stuttgart, they need someone younger as the Japanese is 31 years old as of now. Andre seems to be the perfect replacement for Endo and Fabinho. In Brazil, Andre performed quite well and gained a lot of attention.
Looking back at his season, he was a solid defensive presence in the midfield line with a rate of 2.2 successful tackles per game. He has confidence over the ball and is a very good passer who can break the defence in one go. In the previous season, Liverpool lacked someone who can make those passes and assist the wingers up front.

Andre is also confident in his shooting. Even though he did not score any goals in the previous season, his shots were on target and were a threat for the keeper. Arne Slot is very much interested in signing the Brazilian. From his track record, he plans on solidifying the defence of Liverpool but also start a counter attack from their box itself. According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool did try to bid for him in 2023 but in the end it did not happen.

Who are the transfer targets of Liverpool this season?
Liverpool haven’t been much active in this summer transfer window till now. There is not much information any transfer news or updates regarding the Reds. Some important players have left the club at the end of the previous season like Joel Matip, Thiago and Adrian.
Till now, there have been only links and rumours going on regarding Liverpool. The new manager wants to bring his goalkeeper from Feyenoord, Justin Bijlow. He believes in his previous goalkeeper and knows that there will be competition between Alisson and Bijlow.
Liverpool are also linked with Spanish star Dani Olmo. The RB Leipzig forward is in a great form this Euro for Spain. He has scored three goals and has provided two assists so far in this Euro. He has been decisive in almost every match. The Spanish star has €45 million release clause in his contract with Leipzig. However, a move to Anfield seems unlikely to happen.
