Chelsea on their lookout for Dusan Vlahovic as talks are ongoing

Manchester United

Reliable reporter Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Chelsea is gearing up to engage in another series of discussions. So that they can deliberate upon the potential acquisition of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Vlahovic has three years left on his contract at the Allianz Stadium. Meanwhile, the Serbia international managed to assert himself as the standout offensive player under Massimiliano Allegri’s leadership in the previous season. Additionally, the potential Financial Fair Play constraints confronting his club could prompt them to consider selling him. This situation has captured the attention of Mauricio Pochettino.

In a conversation with GiveMeSport, Dean Jones, provided a substantial update last month. That is regarding the progress of the Stamford Bridge outfit’s endeavor to secure the services of the 23-year-old player.

He said:

“I know some people are ruling out of Vlahovic and they say that nothing is happening there. But Vlahovic has definitely been explored by Chelsea and conversations have definitely happened in terms of that. The fact that they are even contemplating that, tells you they’re tempted to go and sign another striker by the end of this transfer window.”

What did Romano say about Chelsea stance on Vlahovic?

Subsequent to this, Romano verified that Chelsea’s decision-makers were considering the prospect of acquiring the attacker through an “internal” approach. The private discussions that occurred behind closed doors seemingly yielded positive outcomes. Since, they are currently exploring the possibility of a player-plus-cash arrangement. This proposed exchange would involve Romelu Lukaku returning to Serie A and Dusan Vlahovic moving to the Premier League.

On Twitter, Romano disclosed that Chelsea is gearing up for renewed talks with Juventus concerning a potential transfer for Vlahovic. It’s noteworthy that the player’s club is resolute in their stance to secure a fee as part of any potential deal.

During the last Serie A season, Vlahovic demonstrated his goal-scoring prowess by contributing to a total of 12 goals in 27 appearances. If the forward were to finalize his transfer in the remaining weeks of the transfer window, it would undoubtedly be a significant achievement for Pochettino.
