Liverpool veteran Fabinho almost on the verge of moving to Saudi League

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Fabinho is nearing a departure from Liverpool. He appears to be heading to Al-Ittihad. While there were some initial delays due to paperwork, these matters are being addressed and are not anticipated to cause further problems. The Brazilian midfielder expects to undergo a medical examination in the near future as part of the transfer process.

Liverpool embarked on a significant midfield rebuilding process. This initiated with Jurgen Klopp’s decision to release Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner as free agents. As part of the restructuring, the club brought in Alex Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai to bolster their midfield options.

The interest from Saudi Arabia in Liverpool’s midfield duo, compelled the club to reevaluate their plans once more. The departure of their club captain already confirmed and preparations underway for bidding farewell to the Brazilian midfielder. Hence, Liverpool finds itself in a situation where they need to carefully reconsider their midfield options.

The transfer of Fabinho to Al-Ittihad has been under discussion in recent weeks. Thus, it seemed likely that he would leave Anfield alongside Henderson. However, due to some delays in finalizing the deal, Fabinho had to return to Merseyside for training this week.

Will Liverpool let Fabinho leave ?

Despite being back in training at Liverpool, the 29-year-old Fabinho has been excluded from the club’s second pre-season tour of the summer. He did not make the 27-man squad that traveled to Singapore for matches against Leicester City and Bayern Munich. Additionally, he had already missed out on the pre-season camp in Germany earlier.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the delay in Fabinho’s move to Al-Ittihad is related to the documentation in the deal. However, as per the latest update from Fabrizio Romano, the issues seem to have been resolved. The transfer process is now progressing smoothly. If everything continues to go as planned, the midfielder, who was acquired by Liverpool for £39 million, will be scheduled for medical tests in preparation for the move.

With Fabinho’s potential move to Al-Ittihad making progress, Liverpool’s complete attention will shift towards finding a suitable replacement for him. They have been facing rejections for their top target, Romeo Lavia, but they remain determined to secure a deal. As for Fabinho’s transfer, all parties involved are optimistic and confident that they can finalize the deal during the upcoming weekend.
