Chelsea keen on securing Grealish deal this summer

About Football Express UK

Chelsea are reportedly showing firm interest in the Aston Villa star Jack Grealish, according to the report in Football Insider.

The 25-year-old is currently on international duty to help England win the Euro 2020. After having substitute appearances in the last couple of games. The Villa man started in the last group game for England and put on a brilliant performance. Thus, providing an assist to the only goal of the match.

Following the midfielder’s impressive two years spell in the Premier League, Grealish has attracted top six clubs. Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea all are linked with a move for the England international.

Can Chelsea sign Grealish in this transfer window?

According to the report in Football Insider, Chelsea have shown a concrete interest in Jack Grealish and are ready to battle with fellow Premier League club Manchester City for the pursuit of the Villa man.

The report further claims that the club owner Roman Abramovich has expressed his desire to bring in the world class talents like Grealish. And following the Champions League triumph, the Blues have enough resources to land the 25-year-old attacking midfielder.

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea can get the Grealish deal over the line or not. The midfielder to Stamford Bridge will certainly be a shrewd purchase from Thomas Tuchel. However, they already have Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic in the squad to play in that position.

The only area they looked short is the centre forward position. Following an underwhelming debut season from Timo Werner the Blues desperately need a recognized centre forward.

Grealish will cost over £100 million this summer, rather than spending that money on Grealish, Chelsea must go for a World-class striker.

Nevertheless, Grealish will certainly bring more creativity and flexibility to the squad. The Englishman can play as a winger as well as a creative midfielder, which will give Tuchel opportunities to use him in 3-4-2-1 formation as well as in 4-2-3-1 formation.
