Emmanuel Petit wants Chelsea to sign Erling Haaland

About Football Express UK

Emmanual Petit, former Chelsea midfielder thinks that the Blues should sign the Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland to strengthen their forward line.

Erling Haaland, the Norway striker is currently in the limelight as many European clubs are competing against each other to sign him as he has scored 41 goals in 41 appearances for the German giants in the last season of the Bundesliga.

Chelsea have spent more than £200m in the summer transfers last year, where the youngster valued more than £120m. This time also they have to spend a lot as they won’t get Haaland at a cheaper price.

Petit thinks that Thomas Tuchel should sign an outright striker for Chelsea as Oliver Giroud is on his way to leave the club, Tammy Abraham is also leaving on a loan, and Timo Werner is continuously struggling to score goals in important games and Kai Havertz is not a striker.

Can Erling Haaland join Chelsea in this summers transfer window

Chelsea is looking for a striker who can give them goals constantly in crucial games and major tournaments. Haaland is the right option for them at this point in time. He’s young, strong and powerful with a bright future in front of him. Haaland’s value is very high, and connections with Tuchel increases his chance of joining Chelsea in the Premier League.

Haaland can become the finisher that Chelsea has been looking for a long time. His relationships with Mason Mount, Christain Pulisic, Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech can help the Dortmund striker to score more and more goals at Stamford Bridge.

Haaland joined Borussia Dortmund in January 2020 and has scored 57 goals in 57 games he has played for the club.

Haaland is an attacking striker. He has some strengths and weaknesses in his game. The strengths of Haaland are that he is very good at taking headers and is also excellent in close range finishing in one on one situations, he is a complete package and he is someone with whom you can put crosses day in and day out and he will deliver eventually. The weakness in his game is that he is not quite a dribbler or a good passer of the ball.
