West Ham will take on Aston Villa on Sunday, March 13, 2022. The match is scheduled for an early kickoff at 2:00 pm at the London Stadium.

West Ham currently sits 6th in the table, 2 points off Manchester United and level with Tottenham Hotspur. The Hammers would want to win this game and remain in the top four race. Despite a loss in their last game they can still finish top four, although it is starting to look unlikely with each passing game. Aston Villa on the other hand enters the first half of the table. The Villans are currently 9th, 7 points off Wolverhampton and just a point above Southampton. The top half of the table finish would be ideal for them.

West Ham lost 1-0 to Liverpool in their last outing, courtesy of a Sadio Mane strike. The Senegalese star netted in the 27th minute of the game and gave Liverpool all three points. The Irons will want to bounce back from that loss as they take on a Villa side in red hot form.

Aston Villa smashed Leeds 3-0 in their last outing. A goal from Philippe Coutinho followed by strikes from Matty Cash and Callum Chambers sealed the deal for the Villans. Coutinho in particular has been in red hot form ever since he joined Villa on loan from FC Barcelona. The Little Magician will look to weave his magic once again as they face a stern test in West Ham.

WEST HAM TEAM NEWS

Having returned from illness to play 90 minutes against Sevilla, Declan Rice will likely be assessed ahead of this contest.

Mark Noble is on standby if Moyes decides to make a change, but Jarrod Bowen is again expected to miss out with a heel injury.

Said Benrahma should replace either Nikola Vlasic or Pablo Fornals on the flank.

ASTON VILLA TEAM NEWS

Barring any unforeseen injury issues, Gerrard may see no reason to make any changes to his Villa XI after the 3-0 win at Leeds.

Emiliano Buendia is most likely to come into the side as a replacement for Danny Ings or Ollie Watkins, with Calum Chambers keeping his place in the middle of the defence.

OUR PREDICTION

West Ham 2 – 2 Aston Villa

Despite West Ham sitting higher in the table, there is an argument that Villa is the marginal favourites ahead of this contest. Nevertheless, West Ham has been playing well without converting their chances, and if everything comes together at the weekend, we can see an entertaining draw being played out in the capital.
