It seems that Julen Lopetegui, the new first-team coach of West Ham, may be hitting it twice.
As soon as Wolverhampton Wanderers acknowledged they wouldn’t have the money to sign the players Lopetegui had in mind. The Spaniard swiftly ended his contract with the team, according to The Athletic.
Although taking over at the London Stadium offered East Londoners hope for a brighter future, it appears that things are rapidly going south.
Hammered by Budget?
The team has already had bids for Nice’s outstanding former Barcelona center-back Jean-Clair Todibo. Wolves captain Max Kilman has just put his signature in the contract .The club may consider making a second bid for Todibo, according to the Daily Mail. David Sullivan’s low-key actions could ruin their relationship with Lopetegui before it even begins.
The Hammers’ hierarchy must begin acting and thinking like an elite club. They are to be taken seriously as regular players in European competition, with the Champions League remaining their ultimate goal.
The East London team has everything it takes to succeed, including a devoted fan base that sticks with them through good times and bad, but they nearly never do. This is partly because of a narrow-minded mindset that belies their stated goals.
Lopetegui has demonstrated in the past that he won’t hang around if he feels undervalued, so West Ham must carefully consider their next course of action.
Tim Steidten also requires support from Sullivan and his board, as he has demonstrated his astuteness in the transfer market.
The club is now at a true crossroads. If you make the proper choices, West Ham will keep getting better.
If you choose to keep saving the pennies, they will only get stagnant.
Hammer’s Transfer Targets:
Josip Sutalo
Fulham, Brighton and Hove Albion, and the Bosnian, who truly plays for the Croatian national team, have all kept an eye on him.
It is believed that West Ham’s recent transactions with the Dutch powerhouses, from whom they signed Edson Alvarez and Mo Kudus, are the reason they are leading the race.
Both of those players have adapted to life at the London Stadium quite well, and if they can also sign Sutalo, the East Londoners will have achieved a fantastic hat-trick.
Max Kilman
It seems that West Ham is making a lot of effort to land their targets this summer.
A few weeks ago, Luis Guilherme was already signed, and Max Kilman of Wolves finally signed a contract with the Hammers, according to Fabrizio Romano via X.
Jean-Clair Todibo
It was first anticipated that the former Barcelona centre back, who is currently playing for Ligue Un team Nice, would show up at Old Trafford with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the owner of Man United, serving as the intermediary between the two teams.
This is now unlikely to occur, though, because of Nice’s participation in the Europa League for the upcoming season and UEFA’s regulations regarding multi-club ownership.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that West Ham made a bid and that the player was eager to be a part of Julen Lopetegui’s revolution in East London.
