Victor Osimhen transfer news from Manchester United

Victor Osimhen

Osimhen is rumoured to be a player of interest for the Red Devils, who have declared a fresh striker and midfielder their top transfer priorities this summer.

The Napoli striker allegedly tops United’s shortlist of strikers, ahead of Harry Kane of Tottenham, Tammy Abraham of AS Roma, and Benjamin Sesko, who will shortly sign for RB Leipzig.

The Nigerian international, who is under contract with the Serie A team until 2025, has made 27 appearances this season and tallied 21 goals and five assists.

In the previous 48 hours, Plettenberg updated his Twitter followers on information he’d “been told” concerning Osimhen’s destiny. United, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain are ‘all in,’ according to the Sky Sports reporter, with ‘various negotiations’ ongoing.

His €100 million (£88 million) estimate of the forward is ‘not viable’ for Bayern Munich, he continued, so they aren’t in the running to sign him.

Press outlets have referred to Osimhen as a “monster,” and renowned striker David Trezeguet has praised the forward, calling him “unique”:

“He’s a unique player, a prototype of the new player, fast, and he moves a lot. I think he has become a striker with an important profile. He knows how to move and manage himself in the match.”

Fingers crossed as Man United hope Osimhen to join them

Osimhen may thus become one of the club’s most expensive acquisitions ever. If he makes the big-money switch to Old Trafford. Napoli reportedly wants €100 million (£88 million) to let him go.

With a career-high €70 million Transfermarkt estimate, the 24-year-old player appears to be approaching his prime years. He might carry on his prolific scoring ways at his next club. United will be hoping that is on their side. But it appears that they will have a lot of competition for his services. Including from Premier League rivals, so talks could be difficult in the near future.

Although Osimhen is aware that he would be the club’s primary center-forward with Anthony Martial’s future uncertain. Wout Weghorst’s stay only temporary until the end of the season. Drawn to Erik ten Hag’s desire for a headline striker.

He may so combine with left winger Marcus Rashford, attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes, and one of Jadon Sancho, Antony, or Alejandro Garcaho on the right side to form a potent front four.
