Newcastle United is to get a bigger and more refined transfer budget in the coming days. The club is on the run for Swedish striker Alexander Isak. However, Newcastle has to break their transfer budget if they are to go for Isak. The Magpies have spent their budget on bringing Nick Pope, Matt Targett, and Sven Botman to St James Park.

Newcastle has had a very busy transfer window as they had shown interest in every player available in the transfer window. However Newcastle is a relatively small team with a big budget, So not a lot of players believe in the project. Although the club has made some smart signings in Botman and Pope. They also made the loan deal for Targett from Aston Villa permanent. Moreover, Newcastle has made an agreement with Bruno Guimarães for 42M.

Newcastle has already broken their transfer record with all these signings as they are under new ownership. However, this budget will go even more after the add-ons left for Guimarães. There are also reports that Newcastle is having trouble maintaining their transfer budget after bringing in a goalkeeper and a couple of defenders. Eddie Howe also has to add Guimarães to the mix as well.

The perfect player for Newcastle

Howe also wants a new striker to add to the squad. Newcastle has recognized Isak as the perfect player for the position. The Sweden international has scored 9 times for his country whereas he has scored 43 times in 130 appearances for Real Sociedad across all competitions.

Isak had shown he is able to replicate his talents at the top level as he impressed in the Euro 2020 which took place last year. Sociedad knows about Newcastle’s interest in their player. Sociedad has kept a price tag along 42M for Isak, Although this will go up to 50M with all the add-ons.
