Manchester City faces Aston Villa in their final match of the season. Manchester City will be hoping for a win as a win gets them the title making them Champions. Whereas Aston Villa will be finishing mid-table and hoping to spoil their day.
Manchester City have been brilliant this season as they have been in the past years. They are on the verge of securing their second consecutive title and they are just 3 points away. A draw or loss would give Liverpool the advantage of going for the title. And their chances would be fully dependent on the Reds dropping points in the final week.
City have had an easy breeze in the Premier League this season however they have been unlucky in other competitions. Although, being out of the other competitions only helps City to focus fully on the Premier League and they will be hoping for some silverware at the end of the season.
Aston Villa have been playing better football under Steven Gerrard. Gerrard has inspired several players to play better football, especially the likes of Jarrod Bowen, and Matty Cash. As they take on City in their final game they will be hoping to ruin City’s title chances. Moreover, Gerrard is a former Red and he would be hoping to win the game or at least draw it so that Liverpool have the opportunity to win the title.
Gerrard gave away Liverpool’s title once back during his playing days from his infamous “slip”. He now has the opportunity to make it right and win it for Liverpool. Gerrard winning the title for Liverpool is like beautiful poetry that will come full circle.
