Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson has reportedly rejected a move to the Saudi League. Saudi club Al-Ettifaq also have him high on the list of transfer targets.
They are also ready to pay him big wages and a transfer fee for the current England captain. However, Henderson does want to move because of 2024 Euros.
LIVERPOOL CAPTAIN REJECTS A MOVE TO THE SAUDI LEAGUE
According to football reporter Ben Jacobs, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has rejected a move to the Saudi League. Saudi club Al-Ettifaq with Steven Gerrard as the manager wanted to sign him in this summer transfer window. However, the England captain has rejected a potential move. Jurgen Klopp is also keep him at the club.
However, Liverpool remain open to selling him for the right price. Although, Jordan Henderson wants to play for the Premier League giants this season. This is also because his current focus is to captain the England national team in the 2024 Euros. Hence, he wants to continue his stay with the Premier League giants. However, it looks like Jurgen Klopp does want to sign another midfielder in this summer.
JURGEN KLOPP WANTS TO SIGN A NEW MIDFIELDER IN THIS SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW
Liverpool have managed to sign two midfielders in the summer transfer window. They have signed Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister. The Reds paid a fee of around 35 million for the Argentina midfielder. Whereas, they also managed to sign Dominik Szoboszlai from Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig. They activated his 70 million release clause to win the race for his signature.
However, Liverpool are hoping to make another midfielder signing before the end of this summer transfer window. This is also because of the uncertain future of Thiago Alcantara. The Spanish midfielder is also linked to a move to the Saudi League. However, the midfielder is also open to play this season for the Premier League giants before departing on a free transfer next summer.
Therefore, Liverpool will only make another midfielder signings after selling Henderson or Thiago. They also want to take care of their Financial Fair Play rules this summer transfer window. Therefore, they will also not involve themselves in the bidding war for a player.
