Liverpool checking in on the availability of Kylian Mbappe

About Football Express UK

The Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe has become the talk of the town and Liverpool are willingly participating in it.

According to the reports from Marca, Liverpool have enquired about Kylian Mbappe’s availability this summer. The Former Premier League champions enquiry seems more out of hope than expectation, particularly with regards to this summer, with the Merseyside club unable to buy until they move players out of the club. A transfer this summer will be almost impossible. A more likely solution would be a free transfer in 2022, and that actually raises costs far more than many realise.

However, Mbappe have shown interest in the past for playing in the Premier League. It would be interesting to see as to which club ends up getting the signatures of the PSG star forward.

Can Liverpool sign Mbappe this summer?

The former Premier League champions will be unable to make any big-money move until they raise some funds by selling a few of their players this summer. Apart from that, Mbappe still has one year left on his contract keeping him at the Parc des Princes.

Moreover, PSG have been clear that they have no intention of selling Mbappe this summer. While PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi is also aware of the financial losses that might occur if Mbappe on a free transfer next year. Khelaifi also commented that it would be impossible to lose Mbappe on a Bosman in 2022. However, it is actually the French international who holds all the cards.

Furthermore, PSG are trying to tempt Mbappe to stay at Parc des Princes for his whole career. However, that looks almost an impossible approach from the French capital. Thus, Liverpool will be hoping to get Mbappe on a free transfer next year. The Reds will not be spending a huge amount as they are already aware of the budget of the club. Thus, it looks almost impractical to see Mbappe joining Liverpool this summer.
