The reports also suggest that Liverpool have put an enquire about the availability of the Porto midfielder. While Klopp looks highly impressed with the Brazilian and has expressed his desire to work with him.
The former Premier League champions are willing to sign a midfielder before the start of next season. However, they are also looking to offload some players in order to bring some fresh legs to their squad. The Reds are hoping to add some depth in their squad after facing an injury crisis in the last season. Liverpool will be all set to challenge for the Premier League title yet again with their full-strength squad. While Klopp has already told Liverpool chief to start talks with Porto over Otavio transfer this summer.
How much will Otavio cost to Liverpool?
The Porto midfielder had an impressive campaign in 2020-21 season with the Portuguese giants. Otavio found the net 5 times and provided 12 assists from 42 appearances in all competitions in the last season. Thus, helping his side to finish 2nd in the Primeira Liga.
Klopp sees a lot of potential in the Brazilian and is all set to bring him at Anfield. However, The 26 years old midfielder has recently signed a contract extension just 3 months back with the Portugues club. Moreover, Liverpool are hoping to work out a swap deal for Otavio with Marko Grujic, who spent last season on loan at Porto from Liverpool. However, this is highly unlikely to happen.
According to reports, Liverpool could land Otavio for £34m, if they make a move for him before 1st July. However, if the Reds delayed the process they might have to pay the buyout clause, which will be rising to £51m. It will be interesting to see how much can Liverpool spend more in this summers transfer market after already bringing in Konate.
