Lionel Messi threatens to leave Paris Saint Germain this summer

About Football Express UK

Lionel Messi may look to force an exit from Paris Saint Germain if they fail to win the Champions League.

According to former Barcelona player Lobo Carrasco who stated on Diario AS.

“Messi will always miss the ‘modus vivendi’ he had in Barcelona. If he succeeds, which means winning the Champions League, he could extend his stay for another year.”

Messi has struggled in the league where he has just scored one goal and has 5 assists in 11 games. However, Paris Saint Germain are already favourites to win the title with 46 points and ten points clear. On the other hand, Messi is doing great for Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League where he has 5 goals in 5 games.

Lionel has just recently contracted the Covid 19 but is expected to return for a heated encounter against a team he’s very familiar with.

PSG will face Real Madrid in the Round of 16 whereas Lionel Messi is preparing after a negative Covid test.

Why can’t the Messi-Neymar-Mbappe trio work at Paris Saint Germain?

Before the start of the season, PSG made shocking signings and was donned as the New Galacticos. On paper, they are still the best team in terms of big players.

The most exciting prospect about the French outfit is Messi, Neymar and Mbappe performing together. Many even termed it as the next MSN(Messi-Suarez-Neymar). Unfortunately, the three still aren’t clicking together comfortably.

All three of them are creative players with the best dribbling and playmaking abilities as well. However, not one of them is a poacher in the team and, surely, a striker like Lewandowski would flourish in the team.

The other problem at hand is Messi and Neymar underperforming significantly for PSG. Messi has still made his mark in the Champions League but Neymar is struggling a lot. Even Lionel is ineffective in the league along with Neymar. This leaves Mbappe to work alone who is still maintaining his form.

Lionel Messi will face his first test at Paris Saint Germain against Real Madrid, possibly without Neymar and Mbappe.
