Juventus want Firmino as part of a swap deal with Liverpool target

Liverpool

Juventus have put midfielder Adrien Rabiot on sale after failing to impress since joining from PSG. Premier League giants Liverpool have shown interest, and are ready to make a swap deal. Liverpool are looking to add more options to their midfield and are convinced that Rabiot would be a good addition. However, the Reds could lose Roberto Firmino in the transfer operation of Rabiot with Juventus.

The Telegraph have reported that while Liverpool have Rabiot on their radar, the Frenchman too wants a move to the Premier League. Rabiot has failed to establish himself in the Serie A and is hence seeking a move away. Liverpool are emerging as favorites to land him, with Juventus keeping an eye on Firmino. Juventus values Rabiot at £17 million, which is quite accessible to Liverpool. However, the Reds have proposed a swap deal and are ready to send Naby Keita the other way. But Italian outlet CMW claims that Juventus have shown interest in Firmino as part of the swap deal.

Juventus will consider a swap deal which includes Firmino

Both Rabiot and Keita have 12 months left on their current deals and Liverpool considers a swap deal between them as an apt solution. Moreover, both the midfielders are valued at £17 million by their respective clubs. But Juventus want to strengthen their attack and wants Firmino who is valued at £30 million.

Juventus only have Alvaro Morata, Moise Kean, Federico Chiesa, and Dusan Vlahovic in their attack after Paulo Dybala left. While Chiesa and Vlahovic do seem promising talents, their frontline clearly lacks experience. As a result, Juventus are firm on their decision of wanting Firmino for Rabiot. The Brazilian has played a massive 328 games for Liverpool, scoring 98 goals and further assisting 74.

Moreover, Firmino could also provide great versatility to the Juventus attack. The 30-year-old can play as a number-9, second striker, winger, or even as an attacking midfielder. Juventus, therefore, want to get rid of a midfielder and bring in an attacker. On the other hand, given Firmino’s £30 price tag, Liverpool seems hesitant in including him in a straight swap.

Various reports suggest Liverpool could ask Juventus for a player-plus-cash deal if they are to let Firmino join them. But it is quite evident that Firmino’s time at Anfield is up. The striker has experienced a significant dip in his playing time since the arrivals of Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz. Furthermore, the signing of Darwin Nunez would only add to Firmino warming the bench. Meanwhile, Juventus boss Max Allegri knows Firmino could solve many of his problems in the attack and hence has requested the club to include him in the potential swap deal.
