Haaland looking forward to staying at Dortmund amid Chelsea interest

About Football Express UK

Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Braut Haaland revealed that he has not spoken with his agent for over a month and does not feel the Chelsea interest is real.

BVB bought the Norwegian sensation from Red Bull Salzburg just one and a half years ago for £18 million after beating Manchester United in the race. The striker took no time to show his quality in the German Bundesliga as he scored a hat-trick off the bench in his debut. The 21-year-old played 58 games in all competitions during this short stint, scoring 56 goals and notching up 11 assists.

Chelsea are reportedly keen on bringing Haaland to Stamford Bridge. As they are looking for a new World-class striker in this summer transfer window. Thomas Tuchel wants a prolific goal scorer. And there is no one better than the Norwegian at this moment in world football.

Haaland is unaware of Chelsea interests:

Speaking in a press conference the 21-year-old has revealed that there is no conversation with his agent regarding a move away from the Signal Iduna Park. And he is looking forward to staying in Dortmund and working under new manager Marco Rose. He said:

“Before yesterday I hadn’t spoken to my agent in a month, so you tell me, there you have the answer. I hope they are just rumours, as 175 million euros would be a lot of money for one person. I have three years left on my contract; I’m enjoying my time here.”

Dortmund have already expressed their stance on Haaland amid Chelsea interest. They do not want to sell the 21-year-old this summer and will not want to lose their two best players in the same transfer window, following the departure of Jadon Sancho. However, the German club have set a whopping €175 million asking price on the Norwegian international whoever wants to sign him this summer.

Haaland has a release clause of €75 million in his contract which can be activated next summer. There will be numerous clubs in line to sign the 21-year-old, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona.

So, it will be interesting to see what Chelsea decide with Haaland this summer. The Blues desperately need a new striker this summer. The efficiency of the West London club in the transfer market will provide optimism to their fans regarding this deal.
