Manchester United preparing to sign Saul as Pogba replacement

About Football Express UK

Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a move for Atlético de Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez as per the report in Daily Mail

Having secured Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, the Red Devils are not looking to stop their shopping just yet. Previous reports were stating that Paul Pogba has turned down a contract offer from the Old Trafford outfit. And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are open to selling their talisman this summer in fear of losing the Frenchman for nothing next summer.

Paris Saint-Germain are showing interest in signing the Frenchman and are ready to meet the Premier League club’s asking price. However, their fans have expressed their frustration regarding this transfer speculation and hung a banner outside the Parc des Princes that said they don’t want him at their club.

Regardless of Pogba’s future with the Red Devils, Saul Niguez will be a very good addition to Manchester United. Solskjaer wants to bring in a new midfielder this summer. And the Rojiblancos man will be an excellent acquisition for the Old Trafford outfit.

Manchester United want Saul this summer:

According to the report in the Daily Mail, Manchester United are monitoring Saul’ situation with Atletico Madrid. The midfielder has been on the Red Devils’ radar for quite some time but his hefty £128 million release clause was a big obstacle.

The report further claims that following the financial difficulties, the Rojiblancos are eager to offload their biggest earner and ready to accept £45 million for their star man. The midfielder has struggled to break into the starting eleven in recent times and had to play out of position as well in the last couple of seasons.

Atlético de Madrid and Barcelona are currently negotiating for a swap deal involving Griezmann and Saul. But, there is yet to be a breakthrough for this negotiation. If this deal collapses then Manchester United will have a chance to take the opportunity and sign the player.

However, there will be competition from Liverpool and Chelsea who are also interested in the Spanish midfielder. The Red Devils currently have plenty of names in midfield who are not in Solskjaer’s plan. So, Manchester United have to offload some of them before securing the signature of Saul Niguez.
