Eddie Howe’s concern for the Brazilian midfielder

The Brazilian midfielder for the Magpies, Joelinton has already been booked for the ninth time this EPL season. It was against Bournemouth last Saturday on the 11th of Feb . He is at risk of missing two games. As a result of his suspension if he’s booked again in the coming weeks. This raises concern for the Magpies as well as their manager Eddie Howe. Well if he receives a yellow card against Liverpool in their next match on the 18th of Feb the coming Saturday. It won’t cause much of an issue as it won’t further apply to him in the Carabao Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley on February 26.

“He wouldn’t be cup tied for the final, even if he got another booking, but he would miss the next two league games if that did happen,”

said Newcastle United’s head coach. As for the head coach Eddie Howe, who missed Bruno Guimaraes to a three-game ban late last month is quite interested in keeping Joelinton on the field.

The need to keep Joelinton in the playing XI for the Magpies

Newcastle recently after selling Jonjo Shelvey to Nottingham Forest during their January transfers. Are currently a bit weak in their midfield. Which is a matter of concern both for the team and their coach.

“We are light in the midfield”,

said, Howe.

“It’s an area of concern for us. We are desperately keen to keep him on the pitch without getting booked. He’s competitive, he’s a fighter, he wants to win. That at times, will spill over into yellow cards.”

Whereas on the other hand, Guimaraes will be back from suspension. He will be available for the Magpies in the Carabao Cup final.
