Chelsea to bring back former striker Lukaku at Stamford Bridge

About Football Express UK

Chelsea are reportedly keen on bringing back Inter Milan’s Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window.

Lukaku has been in scintillating form since making the move to Serie A. The Belgian international moved from Manchester United in August 2019 for around €65 million. The forward has managed to score 64 goals in all competitions since his move away from England. Making 95 appearances over the two seasons for the Nerazzurri, he now looks set for a return to Premier League.

However, the departure of Antonio Conte after having an argument over the player’s sale has changed the mood of the club. Inter required to sell players to make up the loss of €80 million this summer. And the 28-year-old forward’s exit will raise that amount alone.

The Blues are in the market for the signature of a world-class striker. And Lukaku could be the perfect option for Chelsea to fix the centre forward problem for Thomas Tuchel.

Can Chelsea purchase Lukaku from Inter?

According to EUROSPORTS, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is personally driving the deal of Romelu Lukaku. Abramovich is a man who wants his club to be successful and in order to make that real, he will back his new Champions League winning manager Thomas Tuchel in this transfer window.

The report further claims that talks over a contract have already been started with the player’s agent. However, the Blues will have to face stiff competition from Manchester City who are also looking for a new number nine following the move of Sergio Agüero to Barcelona.

After spending more than £200 million last summer. Chelsea won’t hold back this summer either as they just became the European Champions and they will be looking to become the Premier League champions as well in next season.

If Chelsea go all out for the service of Romelu Lukaku then they might have to pay around £100 million. As the new manager of Inter, Simone Inzaghi will not want to lose their star forward without utilizing him in his first eleven.

If Chelsea can sign Lukaku then it will be interesting to see that would it be a great move or not. As Lukaku had a spell at Stamford Bridge in the early stages of his career. But, he did not have a great time then and the Blues fans will be hoping that won’t be the case this time around.
