However, he rejected them to stay for one more year with Torino at the that time. Hence, it looks like the boat has sailed on for Izzo.
ARSENAL AND ARMANDO IZZO TRANSFER LINKS FULL STORY
According to Armando Izzo himself, Arsenal and Inter Milan were competiting for his signature in 2018. However, the defender decided to stay at Torino for one more year. Although, years later, it did not work out for him well. He is also now a fringe player with Torino. Hence, he is spending this season on loan with newly promoted AC Monza.
The former Arsenal transfer target is now 31 years of age. Hence, it is now impossible that a team like the Gunners or Inter Milan will approach him. Therefore, his priority is to keep on playing well and help AC Monza in their relegation fight. However, Armando Izzo has also said that he fails to understand the lack of interest in him in the next season.
THE DEFENDER WAS SUPRISED BY THE LACK OF INTEREST IN HIM NEXT SEASON
The former Arsenal transfer target has also said that he was surprised with the lack of interest in him. Whereas, he was also surprised that Bremer got to go Juventus despite Torino finishing 10th. However, Armando Izzo has said that he hopes to play for his dream club Inter Milan one day. However, the chances of that happening are very less.
Izzo further said, “The year I renewed with Torino, after qualifying for Europe, my former agent and the president Urbano Cairo told me that Arsenal and Conte’s Inter Milan were there. I had feeling for Toro, I believed in the project and I stayed another year. That year, I scored six goals and I didn’t hear from any team. “I asked myself ‘how is it possible that there is no team?’. Then, after two years, Bremer, with four goals and finishing 10th, he goes to Juventus. My dream was to go to Inter, I’ve never been able to.”
However, the interest of Arsenal is not going to come back. This is because the Gunners are happy with their center-back options. They have also signed Jakub Kiwior from Spezia in the January transfer window. Hence, Armando Izzo should have taken the opportunity at that time.
