Liverpool are plotting a sensational move for Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu in the transfer window this summer.
The Reds are heavily getting linked with a move for the midfielder from the Italian league and could make a swoop.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the midfielder and is looking to improve the squad this season. The Reds could finally land a ‘replacement’ of some sort if they manage to sign Calhanoglu from Inter in the window.
Calhanoglu to Liverpool?
Hakan Calhanoglu made a controversial move from the red side of Milan to the blue side of the same land. However, his performances for both sides have been fairly decent which is why Liverpool are considering a move.
The Turkish international is tied down with Milan until 2024 and the Reds are aware of this fact and want his services. Moreover, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain out from the squad due to his injury, Klopp does not have too many options.
Speaking on the player’s injury, Klopp said-
“With Oxlade it will take longer. It’s a serious hamstring injury and it will take longer.
But it’s a hamstring, and we all hate this word, we hate the injury but anyway it happens from time to time and now Ox was the one.”
However, with the transfer window still ongoing, Liverpool have figured out that Calhanoglu could be a good alternative this summer. According to Calciomercato, Klopp could very well land the Milan ace to Anfield this season in the transfer window.
Last season, Calhanoglu contributed 13 assists and netted the ball seven times with Inter Milan. His influential performances could help Liverpool in the longer run.
