Erik ten Hag has changed his mind about the future of Aaron Wan Bissaka future at Manchester United.
Wan Bissaka had a solid reputation at Crystal Palace before coming to United. However, His development in the attacking department has not been up to the mark. The Englishman’s departure from the team this month in quest of more playing time was highly anticipated. Several teams, notably West Ham, Crystal Palace, and Wolverhampton Wanderers had shown great interest in the defender.
Wan Bissaka to stay or leave?
These English teams were willing to loan out Wan-Bissaka, and the player himself was open to a change. However The 25-year-old took his big chance presented to him by an unfortunate injury to Diogo Dalot. Wan Bissaka seems to have worked a lot on his attacking abilities during the world cup break. He looks much more positive going forward.
According to reports, “Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is now set to stay at Old Trafford this month.” Wan-Bissaka has been excellent during this busy period. Ten Hag has decided to abandon his plans to sign another right-back in January as a result of his recent comeback. As a result of Wan-comeback, Manchester united have reduced their interest in Wolves right-back Nelson Semedo.
Semedo’s contract expires in six months but United won’t pursue him any further. Semedo is one of the players that Ten Hag wants for his long-term plans in Manchester. However, Wolves still have the option of extending his contract and keeping him at the Molineux for an additional Year. United will keep a close eye on the situation.
It will be interesting to see how much playing time Wan-Bissaka gets once a fit Dalot rejoins the team. Ten Hag hasn’t been afraid to give players the opportunity they deserve to impress him and fit into his system. He has shown a great deal of faith and courage in this current United squad. The same squad was very underconfident last season.
