Tottenham appoint Nuno Espirito Santo as their new manager

Tottenham Hotspur announces the former wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo as their new head coach. After a lot of speculations surrounding around with a lot of popular names to take place as Spurs manager, they have finally appointed one at the end.

Spurs has a poor season as they were not even in the top 6 of the Premier League table. After Jose Mourinho left way back in the month of April, Spurs were in search to find his successor. However, their long-running search finally come to the conclusion with the Portugues Espirito Santo. Moreover, star names like Antonio Conte were also part of speculation a while ago. In addition, the Argentine and the former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was also in talks to return back to the London based club. Although it was Espirito Santo, who got the Nod by the Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy. Welcoming their new boss Levy said

“First of all, I’d like to welcome Nuno to the club.” He further added, “We should like to thank our supporters for all their patience throughout this process.”

The EX-Wolves manager had a pretty good time with Wolves. Having known for his attacking style of play Espirito Santo will fit quite well with the talent Tottenham posses in the attacking half. Thus, according to reports from Sky Sports, the former Wolves manager has signed a 2-year contract with Spurs.

Apart from Tottenham, there was yet another Premier League club without any manager. Carlo Ancelotti left Everton after being offered a lucrative deal at Real Madrid. Thus, leaving The Toffees without any head coach to lead them further in the next season.

However, the former Liverpool boss Rafael Benítez was appointed as the new Everton manager. Rafael is well known for his famous Champions League success with the Reds in 2005. Moreover, the Spanish coach is regarded as one of the greats of all time at Liverpool. Thus, now joining their rival club Everton might have been a difficult decision for him. It might also make some Liverpool fans angry at Anfield road. However, Rafael Benítez’s return to the Premier League will surely boost some Everton fans on the other side of the city.

Tottenham and Everton’s fans now have all the reason to be excited ahead of the next season. On one side Tottenham will be hoping to get back in the Top 4 with their new manager. As Espirito Santo attacking style of play might excite many fans of the London club. While on the other hand, Everton will be keen to improve their defence with Rafael Benítez.
