Thierry Small chased by Premier League giants

Arsenal Team

Thierry Small might be reportedly leaving Everton as heavyweights Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in signing him. The 16-year-old wonder-kid has attracted many big clubs across the world but staying in the Premier League is most likely to happen.

The Gunners have earlier been in the transfer window signing some young talented players for their work in progress for next season. Whereas, Manchester United would also be looking to invest in the next youngster after successfully signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

Although he has one more year left on his contract, he could only extend his contract once he is 17 years of age. However, since the departure of former coach Carlo Ancelotti, his future at Goodison Park is uncertain.

Thierry Small hasn’t trained with fellow teammates at Everton

According to The Athletic, Thierry Small has not trained alongside his fellow teammates and a move to a bigger club is still possible. The English left-back hasn’t appeared for the senior team. But he has been impressive for Everton U-18 as well as West Brom Youth.

Additionally, he had also fired his former agent and hired a new representative. Thus, a move away could be one of his options. But, the club doesn’t want to let him leave since he is the youngest member of the senior team as of now. However, he faces stern competition from fellow side-back Lucas Digne.

Playing in the Premier League 2, he made 13 appearances for the U-18 side scoring three goals and bagging an assist. It would be a very tough decision for him – whether to create history at the Toffees or wait for chances in an even bigger club.

Many big names such as rivals Arsenal, Manchester United as well as German giants Bayern Munich are monitoring him. However, the English clubs are currently leading the race to sign him if he leaves Everton.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side has limited options for quality left-backs including Luke Shaw and Alex Telles. However, Telles is yet to prove his potential. While Small would be perfect for the club’s future point of view. Players like Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and other youngsters are also doing well.

Whereas, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are now looking for another young English player after their rumoured Ben White signing. They have already trusted many youngsters such as Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah. Thus, Small would be an ideal signing for them.
