Real Madrid may have to break record transfer fee to sign Bruno

Bruno Guimaraes

Real Madrid may once again have to make a record signing as Los Blancos are interested in Bruno Guimaraes.

The Newcastle midfielder joined the Magpies in January 2022 and since then has been a clinical part of the team.

Not only helping the team to avoid relegation but being a key player in the squad, Bruno’s influence is clearly visible.

Newcastle signed Bruno from Lyon on a bargain £40 million fee and signed a lengthy contract till June 2026.

Madrid to make a record signing for the midfielder

Madrid has already started to plan for the future as they have signed Camavinga and Tchouameni as a replacement for Kroos and Modric.

Although the news of Modric retiring next season may trigger Madrid to sign a quality midfielder and the player which fits the criteria is Buno Guimaraes.

However, according to sources, Madrid have to once again make a record signing to bring the Brazilian midfielder to Santiago Bernabeu.

Newcastle would not want to sell Bruno in the first place and only a tempting offer can make them hold talks for the transfer.

The long-term contract and Bruno’s performance in the World Cup can easily add a couple of millions to his transfer market value.

Key player for Newcastle

The Brazilian midfielder has been a very important player for Newcastle and Eddie Howe plans on building the team around him.

During the press conference, sky sports reported asked Eddie about Bruno’s and Real Madrid’s links

Howe’s response to the following :

We desperately want Bruno to be happy here, to enjoy his football, and to see a long-term vision here. I think time will tell on that.

“We have to get the team in a good place. We have to build positively.

“I think as long as a player sees progression in the team and he sees an ambition in the club, I think hopefully, we can fulfill the needs of everybody here.

“We want to build a team. We are in the very early stages of that. So, we don’t want to disrupt the group we have. We want to add quality the other way.”

What’s best for Bruno

Bruno is an exceptional and talented player and he himself would feel that wearing Madrid’s badge will be a step in the right direction for him.

However, being part of Newcastle’s rebuilding period and helping them become one of the greats can be nothing sort of an achievement for the midfielder.

For now, Bruno is happy at Newcastle and would most likely avoid moves to any clubs.

Newcastle would do their best to try and keep Bruno but Madrid is known for poaching players.
