In recent news, Newcastle United have made a bid to sign Eden Hazard from Real Madrid.
After the Saudi Arabia Public Fund bought Newcastle, they received a major boost in the transfer window. The Magpies are linked with a variety of great players, especially in this transfer window. They are looking to sign many players to improve their ranks because they are currently in a relegation battle.
According to El Nacional, Newcastle have placed a bid of £32 million for Hazard. The deal is at a standstill because Real Madrid wants more, at least up to £40 million.
The reports state that the transfer might not happen because Hazard wishes to join a top club. However, the ultimate decision lies in the hands of The Los Blancos.
Eden Hazard has played previously in the Premier League and was perhaps the best in his prime with Chelsea.
The number 7 curse at Real Madrid.
Eden Hazard has spent a lot of time with the Madridistas and can possibly kickstart his career again. However, he will or perhaps no one will ever reach the level of Cristiano Ronaldo.
After Ronaldo achieved wonders with Manchester United, Madrid president Perez did not hesitate to spend big on him. The club signed him in the summer of 2009. Perez even convinced Raul to give the number 7 to Cristiano. There were so many expectations from Ronaldo and he outperformed everyone.
Raul Gonzalez is a legendary number 7 of Madrid but Cristiano was more than legendary. Even at Old Trafford, he was handed the number 7 which was previously worn by Eric Cantona and David Beckham.
Ronaldo scored 450 goals for Madrid from 2010 to 2018. Unfortunately, he left for Juventus in a shocking transfer as he searched for a new challenge. Perez stated that he will definitely get extraordinary players to fill the number 7 void at Real Madrid.
However, this plan failed horribly. Since Cristiano left, only two players have worn the number 7 at Real Madrid. The first one was the Brazilian striker Mariano Diaz. In his first season itself, he only managed to score 4 goals in 18 games. After the Mariano flop, Perez decided to spend big and signed Eden Hazard.
Unfortunately the Belgian never performed at his level as he did in the past. He only has 4 goals and 8 assists over three seasons for Real Madrid. This is mainly because of injuries because of which the club might get rid of him while they can.
