Manchester United has been offered Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio in a bid to offload fringe players. Real Madrid have got options on the wings with the likes of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo. Both players performed very well and therefore are going to be instrumental to Real Madrid in the future.
Marco Asensio put up 12 goals in 42 games played with Los Blancos but is not a guaranteed starter under Carlo Ancelotti and thus would be a likely candidate to leave the club. The 26-year-old winger is in the final year of his contract and there seems to be no renewal in sight. Marco Asensio also only featured in two of Real’s Champions League games and started only 19 La Liga games. Carlo Ancelotti does not have him in his plans. Eden Hazard who also plays on the wing may leave the club as well.
Manchester United’s interest in Asensio
However, Manchester United are in the market for new players with the arrival of Erik Ten Hag. Ten Hag would be looking to move out several players and bring in fresh replacements. Marco Asensio could be one of those replacements. Jorge Mendes, Asensio’s agent, has reportedly offered up Asensio to Manchester United. The deal, if it goes through, would be a win-win for both clubs as both clubs are emptying out players and Manchester United are in desperate need of a new winger. Also, Asensio could link up with his former teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane.
Asensio says
“I have one year left in my contract yet here we are talking about me leaving Real Madrid. This is an important moment for me, I will not deny it. I am more mature and not only on the field, this is an important moment for me and I will have to make important decisions.”
