Everton

Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a deal for Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Everton. After a successful transfer window deal comprising of Jadon Sancho, another striker is under their radar.

Calvert-Lewin has been one of the star performers for Carlo Ancelotti led Everton but now, a new boss is in the town! Former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is the new head coach and many big clubs are in the hunt to sign him.

The 24-year-old forward has four more years left in his contract but a move to a bigger club would be one of his options.

Jadon Sancho – done ! Calvert-Lewin next for Manchester United ?

Dominic Calvert-Lewin joined the Toffees in 2016 from Sheffield United. Since then, he has made 173 appearances and scored 53 goals. He has even had a bright start for England earning 10 call-ups and scoring four goals so far.

He was in the England U-20 squad alongside Sancho that won the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup. But his breakthrough came in the recent 2020-21 season under Ancelotti. He scored 21 goals and four assists in 39 matches for the Merseyside club.

Calvert-Lewin might bring in more competition for El Matador, Edinson Cavani. The veteran, however, had a brilliant season at the Premier League club. Even club legend Rio Ferdinand feels that the Red Devils should definitely go for him! He says,

“We’ve seen the rewards he’s had, he’s got into the England squad by scoring loads of goals in and around the six-yard box, scoring those ugly goals. I think he’d be a fantastic signing for Manchester United.”

Now, he has also attracted big clubs such as Real Madrid and rivals Arsenal too. A reunion with Carlo Ancelotti at Los Blancos could be still possible but now, his eyes would be certainly set on winning a trophy – the Euros 2020!

England face Ukraine in the quarterfinals and would be certainly looking to bring the trophy back home!
