Keane surprised about Gilmour speaking to Mount and Chilwell

About Football Express UK

Roy Keane had questioned why Billy Gilmour had a lengthy conversation with Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell. England were held 0-0 at home to fierce rivals, Scotland and Mount met Gilmour after the match.

The Manchester United legend was furious about the incident and admitted that he never spoke to anyone more than five minutes. Keane had been criticized for his harsh behaviour against opponents such as Patrick Viera and Alf-Inge Haaland.

England have directly qualified or the Round of 16 in Euro 2020 as Group D winners. Whereas, Scotland are at rock bottom and have been disqualified from the tournament.

Keane unhappy about the ‘bizarre’ talk between Chelsea teammates Gilmour and Mount

Billy Gilmour was tested positive few days after the 0-0 draw against England. As a result, his Chelsea teammates, Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount were kept isolated from the rest members of the England soccer team.

The 0-0 draw was a frustrating result for both the countries and Gilmour was having a chat with Mount and Chilwell. The Scotsman was the man of the match and was given a full-debut for his nation.

The three were reportedly talking after the game ended and inside the tunnel. However, the long conversation hasn’t impressed Roy Keane at all. While speaking for ITV, he said,

“The only thing I’d be critical of is why would you want to speak an opposition player – I don’t care if it’s your (club) team-mate or not – for 20 minutes? After a game when you’ve been to war against somebody why would you want to chat to someone for that long? They could have used a bit more common sense.”

English team made past the group stage with two wins and a draw scoring just 2 goals and conceding none. Raheem Sterling had been their hero for their two wins.
