Reliable football journalist Fabrizio Romano, out of contract Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic still has no complete agreement with Chelsea despite reports claiming so.
Ivan Perisic has enjoyed a brilliant season with Inter Milan. The Italian giants were expected to struggle this season due to the financial struggles at the club. The club also lost star striker Romelu Lukaku and manager Antonio Conte in the summer. Inter Milan were expected to struggle this term. But they have still in contention for their second successive Serie A title.
They are just two points off league leaders in AC Milan. They also recently lifted the Copa Italia trophy against Juventus. Perisic has played as the left wing-back for the Italian outfit this term. The 32-year-old has been ever-present on Simone Inzaghi’s side. But Ivan Perisic is out of contract in the summer. Reports have suggested that the club have offered the winger a new deal. The winger also wants to extend his stay in Italy. But Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that there is still no agreement between any club and Perisic.
Inter Milan need to improve their bid to keep hold of Ivan Perisic
The defending Serie A champions have offered the Croatian a two-year deal. But the contract is only worth around €4.5million-a-year. But as things stand the winger already has better contract offers on his table. Chelsea have offered the winger a deal worth €6million-a-year. Inter need to substantially increase their contract offer if they want to keep hold of their star winger.
Thomas Tuchel is interested in signing the Croatian winger
Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is interested in signing Ivan Perisic. Ivan Perisic has majorly played as the left wing-back this term. Marcos Alonso alongside many other defenders are on the verge of leaving the club on a free transfer in the summer.
Marcos Alonso has featured as the left-back for Thomas Tuchel this term with Ben Chilwell’s injury. Signing Ivan Perisic on a free would certainly help with the defensive rebuild Chelsea have ahead of them in the summer. The Croatian would provide cover at left wing-back as well as on the wing.
