Graham Potter accused of bias against Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic

Graham Potter‘s career at Chelsea has started off in fine form. The Blues are so far undefeated under the Englishman’s stewardship, however, not everyone at West London is happy. Former USMNT star Eric Wynalda has accused Potter of being biased against Chelsea and USMNT winger Christian Pulisic. According to Wynalda:

“I don’t know the reasons why but when you constantly go through this phase of games and Gallagher gets a call, Sterling’s going to get the call, Havertz is going to get the call, Mount is going to get the call way before he even looks Pulisic’s way so this is an interesting one.”

“A lot of comments coming from Graham Potter suggesting that he’s great around the place, he’s a good player, he’s a good guy, we’re all rooting for him. The bottom line is Graham Potter doesn’t like him. He just doesn’t like him.”

Christian Pulisic’s difficult time at Chelsea

Pulisic arrived at West London from German side Borussia Dortmund in 2019 for a  £57.6 million fee. Since then, the American has struggled to secure his spot in the first team. The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a move away from the club this Summer, having fallen out of favor under former boss Thomas Tuchel.

Pulisic has featured in three games for Potter, with one start. He has played in 11 games throughout all competitions this season. The resurgence of Mason Mount and the arrival of Raheem Sterling have made it difficult for Pulisic to secure playing time.

While Pulisic has received plenty of chances, the 24-year-old is yet to live up to his hefty price tag. Chelsea faces off against Manchester United this weekend, a unique opportunity for Pulisic to showcase his ability.
