Brazil 1-0 Peru : Analysis
Brazil were throughout dominating the match and were having more attempts on goal as compared to the visitors, Peru. They had an excellent opportunity to take an early lead in the 7th minute but Neymar Junior failed to capitalise.
La Blanquirroja were too good in defending thanks to skipper Pedro Gallese who forced some magnificent saves. However, Neymar tricked him in the 35th minute and Paqueta took advantage of the situation and scored the only goal of the match.
However, at the other end, Ederson was also kept busy but was well-organized in defence to deny Peruvian Gianluca Lapadula. In the second half the visitors pushed quite hard for the equalizer but to no avail.
Although one goal was enough for the victory, Brazil needed to defend well against an attacking Peru in the second half.
Notable Performances
Neymar Junior (8/10) – Another masterclass from the 29-year-old forward and he has effectively learned about using his skills on time rather than showboating.
Pedro Gallese (7.5/10) – Despite Peru lost the match, the “Tarantula” was having an excellent time and forced some crucial saves.
Alexander Callens (5.5/10) – He didn’t perform well but the defence was putting up a decent performance.
