Chelsea join the race to sign the Inter Milan star Achraf Hakimi

About Football Express UK

Chelsea are looking to sign the Inter Milan wing-back Achraf Hakimi in this summer’s transfer window. After winning the Champions League this season The Blues are looking forward to strengthening their squad. As they eye for the Premier League trophy next season.

The Inter Milan wing-back plays a crucial role in the club being the first choice in the team. According to reports from Daily Mail, the 22-year-old is having a tag at around £70m. Hakimi, who was bought from Real Madrid to join Inter Milan last summer for around £40m, had an impressive debut campaign in the Seria A.

Hakimi played a key role as a wing-back under Antonio Conte’s system in the team. In his 37 appearances in Serie A, Hakimi found the net 7 times and also provided 10 assists. Thus helping his team in securing the league title after 11 years. The Moroccan international is now linked for a move to Stamford Bridge. However, Newly-appointed manager Simone Inzaghi is keen to keep Hakimi with the Italian giants for the next season.

It will be a very interesting signing for The Blues if the youngster joins the Champions League winners at the end of this summers transfer window.

Apart from Chelsea, who are the other clubs in race to sign Hakimi?

According to reports from Sky Italia, apart from Chelsea, their London rivals Arsenal and Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain have shown keen interest in signing the Moroccan defender. While PSG were in talks with the Seria A champions earlier to sign the 22-year old for £50m. Moreover, Arsenal, on the other hand, are eager to sign him as they are looking to rebuild their squad after having a disappointing season.

Although, Chelsea, Arsenal, and PSG are nowhere near signing Hakimi this summer. The Inter Milan star wig-back still has 4 years left on his contract with the Nerazzurri. In addition to that, according to Calciomercato via Football Italia, his agent Alejandro Camano has quashed reports of a move for the Morocco international.

“He is the best player in Europe in his position. That’s why there are so many rumours about him”. Said Camano. He further added, “Hakimi has four years left in his contract with Inter, and I want to clarify I haven’t talked to any other club”.

Currently, it will be difficult to say anything about Hakimi joining Chelsea or any other club at the moment. However, Inter may reluctantly accept any big-money offer if one were to be made this summer.
