Red Devils in search of a Striker

Manchester United has long been searching for a world-class striker since the ill-fated departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. The January Transfer window did open up new prospects and the signing of Dutch world cup revelation Wout Weghorst did solve their worries. But he is 33 years old and was signed only on a half-season loan so he isn’t the solution they are asking for. Anthony Martial the only No.9 in the squad has been inconsistent. Initially, it was thought that Ronaldo’s departure has been good for the team but now it’s a different story altogether. Kane has 18 months left on his contract at Tottenham. Manchester United were said to vying for him in the upcoming summer transfer window. Their hopes were crushed by the fact that he may renew his contract and continue his 19-year-long association with Spurs.

Kane expected to stay at Spurs

Kane is soon going to be 30 but that doesn’t stop him from being a top prospect in the transfer market. His lethal finishing abilities and excellent goal-scoring prowess make him a constant threat in the final third of the pitch. Recently he equaled the late Jimmy Greaves’ record for joint all-time scorer for Spurs. This may have added a further boost to his stay at Spurs.

Ten Hag to miss out on Kane

The Athletic claim that the Tottenham striker is now ready to sit down with club chiefs and discuss fresh terms, as his priority is still succeeding with his beloved Spurs. Erik Ten Hag will have to look for other options in the summer transfer window in order to rectify his misfiring forward line which has been letting him down on many occasions. Till then he’ll have to work with Weghorst and Martial at the top. A good striker is needed for the red devils if they seriously want to set their sight on silverware the next season.
