Arsenal have been advised to go for Chelsea target Declan Rice as his leaving West Ham in 2023 is very likely.
The captain of West ham can soon leave the team to play for what might be another premier league team.
Having been linked to Manchester United and Chelsea for the past few years, there are finally reports suggesting that West Ham may sell him next season.
He has a contract till 2024 with West Ham having the option to increase it till 2025.
Although the chances of him signing a long-term contract seem very unlikely.
A journalist said:
“he is 100 percent confident“
when asked about him leaving the team.
However, the team ahead to sign him is not Chelsea but their rivals.
Is Arsenal a possible destination for Rice?
There is a high possibility that Arsenal may be the destination for Rice.
former Gunners striker Kevin Campbell also believes that Arsenal should look up to him for their midfield options.
There are reports regarding Arsenal pursuing Jude Bellingham but Campbell believes that Declan would be a more suitable option.
Campbell said to The Highbury Squad:
“I truly believe, this is the truth. If you are going to pay £100million, who would you buy? Would you buy Bellingham or would you buy Rice?
“I’d buy Rice. All day long. Bellingham is good and he is younger“
But the game Rice has is perfect for what we have or what we are going to need. I am thinking he is a natural successor to Thomas Partey, who does things in a different way, but he can control a game himself, like Bellingham.
“But if it was £100million and I had to pick one, then I would pick Rice. I think we have other players there who can do what Bellingham does for us, but there aren’t many that can do what Rice can do.”
Arsenal spending £ 100 million on a single player is a whole together a different topic as their record signing was Nicolas Pepe in 2019 with a value of close to £72 million.
Although if they are willing to spend this amount then Rice seems the more suitable option because of his qualities and the premier league experience he has.
