Reports last week suggested that Arsenal were interested in signing Manchester City star winger Raheem Sterling in the summer transfer window. Raheem Sterling is not interested in staying in the Premier League if he leaves Manchester City in the summer.
Raheem Sterling has found his form again this term with Manchester City. The 27-year-old has made a total of 46 appearances across all competitions this term. In this time he has recorded 17 goals and eight assists. (stats via Transfermarkt)
But according to the Athletic’s David Ornstein, the English winger is not interested in a switch to the gunners in the summer. Sterling’s contract with the Premier League leaders is set to expire at the end of next season. As things stand, the winger has shown no interest in signing a new deal with the league leaders.
But with Raheem Sterling not open to a move to another Premier League side after Manchester City. Reports suggested that if the AC Milan takeover bid is complete, the new owners will be targeting the English winger in the summer.
Arsenal could have the perfect transfer target alternative in Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry. The German winger came through the Arsenal academy. Serge Gnabry made 18 appearances for the gunners, during this time he recorded one goal and two assists.
The winger was loaned out to West Bromwich Albion. But the loan move didn’t go to plan at all. He failed to impress the West Bromwich Albion manager and he was later sold to German side SV Werder Bremen. Gnabry has made a name for himself in the Bundesliga.
Arsenal and Serge Gnabry set for a reunion?
Following the recent success of Serge Gnabry with Bayern Munich and in the Champions League, the Arsenal faithful will be kicking themselves for selling the German star. But as things stand, it could be the perfect time for a reunion.
The German winger’s contract talks have been put on hold as the winger is demanding a £12.5m-a-year contract. But Bayern Munich have not agreed to the winger’s wage demands just yet. According to Sport1, Serge Gnabry wants to leave the German outfit. The switch is not just money-related, but the German star wants to play in a more central role rather than the wing.
With Arsenal in the market for a new striker in the summer, Gnabry could be the perfect option. Arsenal could also afford the winger’s wages as they look set to returning to Champions League football at the end of the season.
