Moises Caicedo impresses in Cobham training ground

About Football Express UK

After a poor display on Sunday, Moises Caicedo has impressed Chelsea supporters with his recent performance in Cobham training. The 30-minute cameo by the Ecuadorian international against West Ham was disappointing for him. He conceded a penalty with seconds left to give the east Londoners a 3-1 victory.

Chelsea’s £115m signing Moises Caicedo shows his quality in training session

The South American is one of Europe’s top tacklers and can rob the ball easily. At Cobham, his greatest skill was on display for all to see—after he had scored a screamer, of course. In a 14-second video shared by Chelsea on Wednesday, Caicedo is seen humiliating Mason Burstow by deceiving him in one way before unleashing a rocket into the top portion of the net. Mauricio Pochettino looks around in the background watching his skills. Immediately after giving the Londoner the ball back, the 21-year-old overthrew him with a fierce sliding tackle. The ball was directed by the Ecuadorian’s tackle going into the top corner. The No. 25 for Chelsea didn’t even have to shoot.

The joy among Chelsea supporters when he joined the team was not unexpected given his outstanding efforts for the Seagulls the previous season. His Blues debut, though, was a forgettable one as he came off the bench and gave up a penalty in a 3-1 loss to West Ham. When Chelsea plays Luton on Friday night, Caicedo will have an opportunity to atone his mistakes by displaying his quality.

Caicedo appeared unaffected by his disappointing debut while scoring  two stunning goals in training.
In practise, he scored twice, the first by outclassing academy attacker Mason Burstow and slamming the ball into the net with his left foot, and the second by striking the ball while making a tackle. Thus, he needs to display those qualities against Luton to give Chelsea three important points. In the Premier League on Friday night, Mauricio Pochettino will be determined to get his first victory as Chelsea’s manager in their home.
