Why is their delay in the Declan Rice deal to Arsenal?

Arsenal

There is a delay in getting the Declan Rice deal done. Arsenal and West Ham are still discussing of the payment structure.

West Ham are reluctant to budge on the payment structure for the 24-year-old as they want the full amount to be paid in just 18 months. Rather than spread over four years as Mikel Arteta’s side have requested.

Rice has made his feelings known that he wants to join Arsenal, and will cut his holiday short to undergo a medical in the UK once the transfer is finalised and this impasse has passed.

Declan Rice wants the deal to get sorted without anymore delay

When such a large transfer fee is being negotiated. Often small details take a while to be ironed out. West Ham will understandably want as much of the £105million as soon as possible. But Arsenal are resisting such a quick turnaround in the payment.

The Mirror claim that a compromise is likely to be met. Following this Rice will cut his holiday short and finally put pen to paper. That is to sign for his second-ever club as a senior player.

Fabrizio Romano went on to say this about Artetas’ influence:-

He’s been pushing internally, but also on the player side. He’s been explaining the project and talking about how the Arsenal project is perfect for Rice, his ambitious project is for the future and Declan can be a crucial player there.  So Arteta has been very clear with all the players Arsenal are negotiating.

“It was the case with Kai Havertz, it’s going to be the same with Jurrien Timber, but especially with Rice.  Declan Rice and Arsenal is something that is going to happen also thanks to Edu and Arteta.

Trust me, they did an incredible job in this story. So just waiting on the final bits of this story and then it’s going to be ‘Here We Go’ for Declan Rice!”
