Newcastle United: Luke Edwards advises offloading players

About Football Express UK

Luke Edwards has advised Newcastle United to fix their squad before moving on to the upcoming season. He believes Newcastle need to make a list of players they wish to offload before the transfer window opens. Newcastle will end up with a bloated squad if they are not careful in the transfer market.

Edwards explained

“This highlights problems #nufc have this summer. They’ve got far too many players they no longer want on inflated wages, with several years remaining on their contracts. To be blunt, it’s a mess, not of the new regime’s making, but which they need to clear up urgently.”

How Newcastle can become a super club

Newcastle United are under new management as a Saudi oil company have taken over them. Newcastle have unlimited funding at the moment and will be looking to do a Manchester City. City were in the same position as Newcastle a decade ago. Ten years later, City are one of the biggest clubs in the world, If not the biggest. Newcastle would be hoping to become a super club in the years.

Newcastle first and foremost needs a bigger manager. Eddie Howe has been brilliant for Newcastle since he arrived as he has managed to keep them in the Premier League as they were battling relegation before. However Howe is not a “Big” manager, Newcastle needs someone who has the vision to rebuild the club. They need a Guardiola or a Klopp or even a Jose Mourinho, The latter was linked with the club weeks ago but rejected a move.

Secondly, they need bigger players however big players won’t move as Newcastle are a club in transition. They need their “Robinho” who believes in their project. This one player can change the course of the club as he can attract bigger players to the project.

If things go their way, Newcastle could become a super club within 6-7 years.
